Verify the code, then get the account

After submitting, a code goes to the applicant's mobile number. Entering it correctly marks the application verified and attaches it to their student account. An applicant who has no account yet gets one created there and then, and a number that does not match the application is refused.

How it is done today

An application made up on a false number holds a seat that a real student then cannot have. Asking applicants to go and create an account separately is where many of them stop, which leaves the application and the student record as two unconnected things for the office to match by hand.

How it works

  1. 1

A code goes to the number

As soon as the application is submitted, a code is sent to the mobile number given on it and a box to enter it opens on screen.

  2. 2

    The number has to match

The number the code was verified against must be the one on the application, so somebody else's application cannot be claimed as your own.

  3. 3

An account is created if needed

A first-time applicant with no student profile gets one made at this point, rather than being sent away to a separate sign-up screen.

  4. 4

The application is tied to it

Verification stamps the student's identity onto the application, so the teacher's list shows plainly which application belongs to which student.

  5. 5

    One application, one person

An application already attached to a different student cannot be taken over by somebody else; that request is refused outright.

What runs on its own, what stays in your hands

What happens automatically

Checking the numbers match, creating a student profile where one is needed and tying the application to it all happen by themselves.

What you control

Whether OTP is required at all is the teacher's switch. With it off, an application counts as verified the moment it is submitted.

Frequently asked questions

Does verifying mean being admitted?

No. Verification only establishes that the number is real and the application belongs to that person. Joining the class, or going on the waiting list when it is full, comes after it.

What if the applicant already has an account?

Their existing account is used and nothing new is created. The application is attached to that same student record, so their history stays in one place.

Does this step appear when OTP is off?

No. With the switch off, an application is created already verified as soon as it is submitted, so no code entry screen appears at all.
