Every notice in one list

Opening the inbox brings your notifications, system alerts and message conversations together in one list, newest first. The total still unread comes back with it, and the list can be narrowed by source, by priority, by read state or to the items you have pinned.

How it is done today

Class notices in one place, fee chasers in another and somebody's message in a third means opening three pages a day to stay on top of things. Nothing tells you which of them needed you first, and an urgent one is easy to bury under the rest.

How it works

  1. 1

    Every source fetched together

Notifications, system alerts and message conversations are fetched at the same time and merged into one list, with nothing to go and look for separately.

  2. 2

    Newest at the top

Everything is ordered by time across all the sources, so today's notices sit above older ones no matter which part of the system raised them.

  3. 3

    One unread number

You do not have to add up unread counts per source. One figure covering all of them comes back alongside the list itself.

  4. 4

    Tabs and filters

There are unread and pinned tabs, and a filter for source and priority that shows how many filters you currently have switched on.

  5. 5

One pane at a time on a phone

On a small screen the list and the item are shown one after the other instead of side by side, so reading on a phone still works.

What runs on its own, what stays in your hands

What happens automatically

Pulling from every source, putting them in one order and working out the unread count all happen on their own.

What you control

Which notice you deal with first is yours to decide. The tabs and filters are there to cut the list down the way you want it.

Frequently asked questions

Why are system alerts separate?

Notices in the system category are treated as their own source and can be filtered apart from the rest, so something important about the account or the platform does not get lost in the everyday traffic.

How many items come back at once?

The screen asks for fifty at a time, and further pages can be fetched after that. With a filter or a search on, the list narrows to whatever matches instead.

How does the search work?

The search term is matched by each source in its own way, against the title and the short preview. Items that match stay in the list and the rest drop out of it.
