Your roll number is your identity

After choosing the institution you give the ID it holds for you. Capital letters make no difference, but your membership of that institution has to be active. On a match, part of your phone number is shown so you can see where the code is about to go.

How it is done today

Remembering a username and password is extra weight, particularly for younger students. The roll number, on the other hand, is something they already know and write on the top of their exercise book every day.

How it works

  1. 1

    Choose the institution

Once you have picked your institution in the previous step, the identity field appears.

  2. 2

    Type your ID

Enter the ID your institution gave you, which for a student is usually the roll number.

  3. 3

    Check the masked phone number

On a match, part of your phone number is shown. Check that it really is yours before going on.

  4. 4

    Continue

This step also reports whether a password is already set, and the next step follows from that.

Frequently asked questions

Does the case of the ID matter?

No. The ID is matched without regard to capital letters, so you can type it however you like.

I typed my ID and it still does not match. Why?

Identity does not resolve if your membership is not active, or if the institution holds no phone number for you. The office can put either right.

Why is only part of the phone number shown?

The number is partly hidden so you can recognise your own while somebody looking over your shoulder cannot read it.
