Every classroom at the institution, in one place
From the institution dashboard an administrator can open a classroom, attach its teachers at the moment it is created, enroll or remove students, and tidy finished classes away. Classrooms can also be created in bulk from a spreadsheet rather than one at a time.
The pages below take institution classroom work one task at a time: creating classrooms, reading the list, placing teachers and students, and archiving what is finished.
Features in this area
- One class can have more than one teacher
Put one teacher or several in front of a classroom, with no way to attach somebody who is not actually one of the teachers at your own institution.
- The course is over, the classroom is not rubbish
Move a finished classroom out of the institution's active list. Nothing is deleted; the classroom simply stops crowding the classes you are running now.
- The routine is already a spreadsheet
Upload the routine file, match up the columns, and let the institution's classrooms be created together. The work runs in the background with progress shown.
- A classroom and its teacher, in one step
Open a classroom from the admin dashboard and put its teachers in front of it in the same step, rather than waiting for a teacher to create their own.
- Nobody already in the class is offered twice
Search your institution's students and put them into a classroom. Anybody already in that classroom is left out of the results rather than offered again.
- Leaving a class is not leaving the institution
When a student changes batch or drops the class, take them out of that classroom. Their membership of the institution itself is not affected by it.
- Off one class is not off every class
When a teaching assignment changes, take that teacher off the classroom. Their other classrooms and their place at the institution are left alone.
- Which class has room, at a glance
One list of the institution's classrooms, each row showing who teaches it, how many students it holds and what state the classroom is currently in.
- Exactly who is in this class right now
See who is currently enrolled in a classroom, with their email addresses and the date on which each one of them joined that particular class.
Frequently asked questions
Who can do this work?
An institution's administrators. Every request begins by checking it came from an administrator of that institution.
Can teachers open their own classrooms too?
They can when the institution allows it. That is a separate setting, and the teacher's own way of creating a classroom is covered in the classrooms section.
Can many classrooms be created at once?
Yes. There is a step by step import from a spreadsheet, where you match up the columns and the work then runs in the background.
