The course is over, the classroom is not rubbish
An administrator can archive any classroom from the institution's list. This changes the classroom's status and deletes nothing at all. Trying to archive a classroom that is already archived is refused with a note saying so, rather than the same change being written a second time.
How it is done today
Every session adds a new batch and the old ones stay where they are. A year in, the classroom list is long enough that finding this term's classes in it becomes a job of its own.
How it works
- 1
Find the classroom
Locate the classroom you want to put away in the institution's classroom list.
- 2
Choose archive from the row
Open the actions on that row and choose to archive the classroom.
- 3
Confirm it
A dialog asks first, and the change is only written once you confirm there.
- 4
Check the status
Afterwards the classroom's status says it is archived, so it no longer reads as one of the running classes.

Frequently asked questions
Is the classroom deleted?
No. Only the classroom's status changes. The classroom and everything inside it stay exactly as they were.
What if I archive the same classroom twice?
The second attempt does nothing. The request comes back saying the classroom is already archived.
Can I archive a classroom from another institution?
No. The classroom is checked against your own institution first, and one that is not yours comes back as not found.
