A forgotten password should not cost a class
An administrator can issue a temporary password for any member. The old password stops working and every device they were signed in on is logged out. The temporary password is shown to the administrator to relay, and the member is asked to set one of their own the next time they sign in.
How it is done today
A forgotten password is the most common thing an institution office hears, and the usual fix of emailing a reset link does not work for the many students in Bangladesh who have no email address of their own. On a class day that leaves one student standing outside for the whole period.
How it works
- 1
Find the member
Locate the person whose password needs resetting in the member list.
- 2
Choose to reset the password
Pick the reset action from the row and confirm it in the dialog that follows.
- 3
Relay the temporary password
The temporary password is shown to you. Pass it to the member in a way that keeps it between the two of you.
- 4
The member sets their own
They are asked to choose a new password the next time they sign in, so the temporary one does not stay in use.

Frequently asked questions
Does the new password go to the member?
No. The notice they receive only says the password was reset and asks them to contact their institution administrator. Relaying the password itself is the administrator's job.
What happens to devices they were already signed in on?
All of them are signed out. The old password stops working and no session that was already open stays open.
Can I reset several members at once?
Yes. Tick several members in the list and the reset runs for all of them together.
