A misspelled name is not worth a second account
An administrator can change a member's name, phone number, the institution's own ID for them and their role. The name and phone number are written onto the member's own account. If the ID you typed already belongs to somebody else at the institution, the save is refused and the clashing ID is named.
How it is done today
Names get misspelled in the rush of admission, roll numbers go unfilled, and the phone number given in January stops working by June. If fixing any of that means abandoning the account and opening a new one, the attendance and results recorded so far stay stranded on the old one.
How it works
- 1
Open the edit panel
From the member list, open the edit panel through the row actions for that person.
- 2
Correct the name or phone number
Fix the spelling or put in the new number. Both of these are written onto the member's own account.
- 3
Set the institution's ID
This is where a roll number or staff ID goes. No two members of the same institution can hold the same one.
- 4
Change the role if it is wrong
Somebody sitting in the wrong role can be moved here. The one role that cannot be moved is the organization owner's.
- 5
Save the change
Once saved, the change shows in the member list and on the member's own account.

Frequently asked questions
Can I change somebody's role from here?
Yes. The only exception is the organization owner, whose role the system refuses to move to anything else.
What if two people end up with the same ID?
The save is refused. You are told that the ID already belongs to a member of this institution, so a duplicate never gets written.
Does the new name or number reach the member's account?
Yes. Name and phone number are written on the account itself, so the number the member signs in with is corrected here too.
