Where people land after they are admitted

An administrator picks one member, or several at once, from the member list and places them into classrooms. A teacher is added to the classroom as a teacher; anyone else is enrolled as a student. The classrooms you choose are checked against your own institution before anything is written.

How it is done today

At the start of a session a few hundred students have to be placed into sections, and doing it classroom by classroom, one name at a time, stretches across days. When somebody changes section halfway through the term, the record drifts further out of step.

How it works

  1. 1

    Pick the member or members

Open the row actions for one person in the member list, or tick several people to handle them together.

  2. 2

    Open the classroom panel

The panel lists your institution's classrooms, with the teachers currently attached to each one shown alongside.

  3. 3

    Find the classroom

Type a classroom's name in the search box, or type a teacher's name to bring up the classrooms they take.

  4. 4

    Tick one classroom or several

At least one classroom has to be chosen. A single member can be placed into several classrooms in the same step.

  5. 5

    Confirm the placement

For a teacher the confirm button offers to assign them as a teacher; for a student it offers to enroll them.

Frequently asked questions

Can I place several people at once?

Yes. Tick several members in the list and all of them are placed into the classrooms you chose in one step.

What happens when the member is a teacher?

They are attached to the classroom as a teacher rather than enrolled as a student. Their role decides which of the two happens.

Can I assign a classroom belonging to another institution?

No. The classrooms you picked are checked against your own institution before the assignment is written.
