Last month's unpaid fees don't get buried

At 9am on the 5th of each month, ClassTablet goes back over the previous month's bills. Any student whose fee for last month is still unpaid or rejected gets a 'tuition fee overdue' notice in the app and by push. Old dues are pulled out on their own instead of disappearing behind the new month's bills.

How it is done today

When a new month starts, everyone's attention moves to this month's fees. The two or three students who didn't pay last month stay on an old page of the register, and three months later one family owes a large sum. Asking a parent for several months at once is uncomfortable for everyone.

How it works

  1. 1

Last month is checked on the 5th

At 9am on the 5th the system looks at the previous month's bills, not the current one, so old dues are never mixed up with the new month's bills.

  2. 2

    Only students who still owe

A student is notified only if last month's bill is still 'unpaid' or 'rejected'. Anyone who has since submitted a payment or been approved is left out.

  3. 3

    A separate 'overdue' notice

This message reads differently from the regular reminder: the student sees which classroom, which month and how much is past due, in the app and as a push alert.

  4. 4

Old months can still be paid

Last month's bill stays on the student's Fees page with its 'Pay Now' button until it is settled, so they can pay the old month from the same place.

What runs on its own, what stays in your hands

What happens automatically

On the 5th of each month the system finds last month's unpaid bills and sends those students an overdue notice.

What you control

Who gets the notice follows your checks. Once a teacher approves the payment, or an admin marks it paid on the Student Fees page, that student is not notified.

Frequently asked questions

Is a late fee added to overdue bills?

No. ClassTablet adds no fine or late fee. The bill stays at the classroom's monthly fee; the notice is only a reminder.

How often is the overdue notice sent?

Once for each unpaid month, on the 5th of the following month. Students are not sent the same notice again and again for one bill.

Are parents told about overdue fees?

This notice goes to the student's account. We don't claim SMS or calls to parents for it, so contact the parent yourself if you need to.
