Keeping the receipt where you can reach it
An invoice that has been paid can be rendered into a file and downloaded. It arrives as something to save rather than something to read on screen, and its filename carries the first part of the invoice identifier. An unpaid invoice offers no download at all.
How it is done today
Handing plan costs to whoever keeps the books does not work by pointing at a row on a screen, and a photograph of that screen is not accepted as paperwork by any set of books.
How it works
- 1
Open the invoice list
Open your own list of invoices in the billing section, where each row carries an invoice column on the right.
- 2
Find a paid row
Only an invoice that has been paid carries the download beside it. The other rows do not offer one.
- 3
Download the file
Going on from the download renders the file and hands it over as something to save on your own machine.
- 4
Keep it on file
The filename carries the first part of the invoice identifier, which makes it straightforward to find again later.

Frequently asked questions
Can an unpaid invoice be downloaded?
No. That row says the download is not available rather than offering one that would not work anyway.
Can somebody else's invoice be downloaded?
No. Before the file is built, the invoice is checked against the person asking, and it is refused otherwise.
Can many be downloaded at once?
Not many. Only a handful of requests a minute are taken, and past that it asks you to try again shortly.
