Turned down does not mean money stuck
When a request is rejected, word goes to that teacher. In the same moment the held amount is released and returned to the balance you can draw on, and it is exactly the amount the request set aside rather than a figure worked out again.
How it is done today
A request turned down while the money stays held, with nobody telling the teacher, reads as money that has gone missing, and they cannot try again either.
How it works
- 1
The request is rejected
Only a pending or processing request can be rejected. One already paid cannot be turned down after the fact.
- 2
The held amount is released
Inside the same transaction the hold comes off and the amount returns to the balance you can draw on.
- 3
Word reaches you
It arrives inside the app and by browser push, carrying the amount the request was for.
- 4
You can ask again
Because the money is back in your balance, sending a fresh request needs nothing else to happen first.
What runs on its own, what stays in your hands
What happens automatically
On rejection the system releases the held amount back to the balance in the same transaction and resolves the teacher to send word. Both happen together rather than one and then the other.
What you control
The decision is not yours, but what happens to the money afterwards needs no guesswork: the amount returns to your balance and shows there in your own earnings section.

Frequently asked questions
Where does the money go when a request is rejected?
Back to the balance you can draw on. It is the same amount the request held aside, returned in full.
Does the notice say why it was rejected?
No. A reason is stored against the request, but it is not sent along with the notice itself.
Can a paid payout be rejected afterwards?
No. Outside pending or processing the request cannot change, and the attempt is turned away saying so.
