See exactly who was missing that day
Opening a register taken earlier brings back that day in full: each name with the state recorded against it and any note that was left. The list is laid over the batch's current students, so nobody added since is missing from it.
How it is done today
If a register cannot be opened again, mistakes cannot be corrected. A student who turns up after the roll call stays marked absent for good, and the parent gets told something that is not true.
How it works
- 1
Pick the earlier register
Choosing the day you want from the attendance list brings that register back as it was saved.
- 2
Read the states name by name
Each name carries the state recorded for that day, and where a note was written against somebody it comes back with them.
- 3
Newer students are included
Students who joined the batch after the register was taken still appear, starting from absent rather than being left out.
- 4
Correct it if you need to
With the register open, changing a state and saving it happens in the same place rather than somewhere else.

Frequently asked questions
Can somebody without access read the record?
No. Even after the record is loaded the caller's access is checked, and without it the record is not handed over to them.
What happens if the record is gone?
Rather than an empty list it says the attendance record was not found, which keeps a wrong address distinguishable from a deleted one.
Do the notes come back too?
They do. A note written against somebody when the register was taken comes back attached to their name rather than having to be found separately.
