So nobody misses the extra class
Adding a class outside the regular timetable raises separate notices for the students and for their parents. The date and the start and end times go with it, so nobody has to open the timetable to work out when the extra class actually runs.
How it is done today
Extra classes usually get announced out loud at the end of a lesson, and whoever was absent that day, or left in a hurry, simply does not turn up for it.
How it works
- 1
Add the extra class
Add a one-off class to the classroom's timetable from the option for a schedule exception.
- 2
Give the date and times
Both the date and the start and end times are required, and all of them travel with the notice.
- 3
Two notices are raised
The one extra class sends separate word to the students and to their parents rather than one message.
- 4
It reaches both sides
The notice comes inside the app and by browser push. It is not sent by email at all.
What runs on its own, what stays in your hands
What happens automatically
As the extra class is added the system resolves the students and the parents as two groups and sends word to each, attaching the date and the times.
What you control
When the extra class runs is your decision. Nothing is sent until you add it, and one class sends one notice.
