Check the paper before the class does
Before publishing, a teacher can run a preview. Starting one opens exactly the quiz screen students will get, with the same timer, the same question order and the same settings, so anything wrong is found before a single student sees it.
How it is done today
Everything looks right in the editor, and then on the student screen the image has not loaded, the options came out shuffled oddly, or the time limit makes the paper impossible. By then forty students have started and nothing can be changed mid-quiz.
How it works
- 1
Finish writing the quiz
Set the questions, marks, time limit and integrity rules. A preview can be run before the quiz is published.
- 2
Start the preview
Starting a preview opens the quiz screen exactly as a student gets it, with the same layout and the same timer running.
- 3
Check the settings in practice
See what shuffling questions or options actually produces, how the time limit feels, and what happens after submitting.
- 4
Fix anything and publish
If something is wrong, go back to the editor, correct it, and publish the quiz to the class once you are satisfied.

Frequently asked questions
Does a preview affect students' attempts?
No. A preview does not refresh the student attempt lists, so nobody's attempt in progress or already finished is disturbed by it.
Does the timer run in a preview?
Yes. A preview runs from the same start payload, so you feel how tight the time limit really is instead of guessing from the number.
Can students see the preview?
No. The preview is started by the teacher, on their own screen. Students get the quiz only once it is published.
