Guest students in your institution
When somebody who is not on your institution's books joins a classroom with its code, their enrolment is marked as a guest one. An admin sees every guest in one list, with the classes each of them is in, and can make any of them a full member of the institution in one step.
Coaching centres regularly take students who sit in on a batch or two without ever being on the main register. The pages below show how those students are marked while they are guests, and how they become full members when the time comes.
Features in this area
- Who is in your classes as a guest
Everyone sitting in your classes without being a member of the institution, gathered in one list, each with the classrooms they are enrolled in.
- Bring a guest onto the books properly
One step turns a guest into a member of the institution and clears the guest marking from all of their classes at once, recording who decided it.
Frequently asked questions
How does someone become a guest student?
By joining a classroom with its code while not being a member of the institution that owns it. If the institution does not allow outside students at all, the join is refused instead of creating a guest.
Do guests get less inside the class?
Inside the classroom they are enrolled like anybody else. The marking exists for the institution's own records, so an admin can tell regular members apart from people sitting in.
What changes when a guest is made a member?
They become a student member of the institution, and the guest marking is cleared from all their enrolments at once. After that they no longer appear on the guest list.
