An SMS management dashboard for after you press send

On ClassTablet's SMS Tools page an institution admin sees, in one place, the credit balance, how many SMS failed this month, and every SMS with the number it went to, what it said, when it was sent and its current status. You can search and filter by status, and a failed message shows why.

How it is done today

Once an SMS goes out, most institutions have no idea whether it arrived. A parent says 'I never got a message', and the office cannot say for sure whether it was sent, to which number or what it said. The SMS company's panel has its own login, and it never shows a teacher's result SMS alongside the office's notices.

How it works

  1. 1

    Status at a glance

Two cards sit at the top of SMS Tools: Credit Balance, which shows a warning when low, and Failed, the number of SMS that didn't get through this month.

  2. 2

    Every SMS in one list

Below is a list of every SMS with the recipient's number, the message, its status and the date. Office notices and teachers' result SMS both appear here.

  3. 3

    Search and filter

Search by number or part of the text, and filter by status: pending, queued, sent, delivered or failed. When a parent asks, you can answer on the spot.

  4. 4

    See why it failed

Tap View message on any row to open the full text and details. If the SMS failed, the reason it failed is shown there as well.

What it looks like

Frequently asked questions

Are credits refunded for failed SMS?

Yes. When an SMS sent from SMS Tools fails to send, its credits go back to the balance automatically, and the list shows it as failed.

Can I resend failed SMS with one click?

Not yet. Failed SMS are listed with their reason, but to try again you write and send a new message. We don't claim one-click resending.

Can teachers see this dashboard?

No. SMS Tools is for the institution admin only. Result SMS sent by teachers show up here for the admin, so every SMS is accounted for in one place.
