Publish the quiz and the class hears about it
A ClassTablet quiz stays visible only to the teacher while it is a draft. Pressing Publish in the editor puts it into students' lists, and the students in every classroom the quiz is assigned to get an in-app and push notification. A quiz with no questions cannot be published at all.
How it is done today
A finished quiz tells nobody it exists, so the teacher writes another message in the group about which quiz is on and when. Students who are not in the group, or who never scrolled back to the message, simply miss it, and the complaint arrives after the quiz has closed.
How it works
- 1
Add at least one question
The publish control stays disabled until the quiz has a question in it, so an empty quiz cannot be pushed out to a class by accident.
- 2
Choose which classes get it
Target classes in the editor settings decides which classrooms the quiz reaches. One quiz can be given to several classes at once.
- 3
Press Publish
The publish control appears while the quiz is still a draft. Pressing it changes the quiz's state and opens it up to the students it is assigned to.
- 4
Students are told
Students in every classroom the quiz is assigned to get an in-app and push notification, so nobody has to be told separately in a group chat.
What runs on its own, what stays in your hands
What happens automatically
Publishing sends the in-app and push notification to the students of every assigned classroom by itself, with nothing for the teacher to send.
What you control
When a quiz goes out, and which classes it reaches, are both the teacher's decision. Until it is published, no student sees it.

Frequently asked questions
Can an empty quiz be published?
No. The control stays disabled in the editor until there is at least one question, and the server refuses an empty quiz as well, so it is blocked in both places.
Can questions be changed after publishing?
Not directly. A published quiz has to be taken back to draft first, then changed and published again, which keeps a live quiz from shifting under the students sitting it.
Does an SMS go out too?
No. News of a published quiz goes through the app and push notifications. A student who has not opened the app will not get an SMS about it, as that is a separate tool.
